I was born with a sweet tooth. I’ll take a gooey chocolate piece of cake over salty snacks anyday. When we were little all of our school snacks were scratch baked and we used to trade with other kids for store bought things! I remember standing on a chair in moms kitchen watching her roll endless amounts of cookies and then dip them into sugar. And my dad can make a mean pie too! So it must be in the genes, and although I have only had bits and pieces of formal training, I must say that my morsels turn out pretty fantastic most of the time.
I am a mom of 3 wild and crazy children and a happily married woman. Our house is always busy and usually very noisy! Week-ends for me generally are spent in the kitchen. Always baking for company and making treats for the week. For events, I often get asked, “Can you bring dessert?” The kitchen is where I feel happy and confident. I get a lot of personal satisfaction when someone enjoys what I have made.
I encourage you to try my postings or share what you have! I’m always looking for new things, but love love old favs too.

Happened upon your site and it is amazing! Love the pictures and recipes! So wish my cakes could turn out looking that good. Do you give tips on how to bake moist cakes? Would love to know. You do wonderful work with cakes and are so very talented. Thank you for posting these wonderful recipes.
Alabamadecorator- thanks for visiting! I think any of the cakes you try on my blog are pretty moist. Baking time is key though, overbaking even for a few minutes can make for a very dry cake! And, I tend to refrigerate as little as possible. Try one out and let me know what you think!
